The Jordanian Red Crescent, in cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, concluded a training workshop on Thursday on the "Livelihood Program" for approximately 25 volunteers from 10 branches.
The workshop, which was held at the Jordan Red Crescent Training Center in Madaba Governorate, discussed how to improve livelihoods, generate income and provide the means to earn a living.
In addition, this session highlighted the importance of understanding people's livelihoods as a starting point to determine how communities can maximize their capacities, decrease their vulnerabilities in normal times and after disasters or conflict, and help identify roles of different households and community members.
The workshop lasted for three days. In attendance were lecturers from the Egyptian Red Crescent, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Jordanian Red Crescent.
