Distribution of Health and Food Parcels to 3000 Syrian Refugee Families in the Southern Governorates

19 Sep 2016

On Eid al-Adha, seeing the large number of Syrian refugees in Jordan, the Jordanian Red Crescent distributed food and health packages to Syrian refugee families in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross. The number of families benefiting from the food were about 3000 Syrian families in the southern governorates of the Kingdom (Maan, Karak, Madaba and Aqaba). The Jordanian Red Crescent volunteers also distributed 2,000 women's bags to Syrian women with the support of the German Red Cross in the same governorates. The Syrian families in the southern governorates were selected by the International Committee of the Red Cross due to the lack of humanitarian organizations operating in the south. The International Committee of the Red Cross worked in cooperation with the Jordanian Red Crescent to distribute these packages to needy families.
