Jordanian Red Crescent increase their efforts to support Syrian refugees

Jordan Red Crescent (JRC) finished today distributing 3472 ATM cards for Syrian refugees as a cash support to help them pay their rents and cover their bills. The project includes 3472 families in which 1321 families are from Amman, 735 from Irbid, 679 from Ajlon and 737 in Jerash. Each family consisting of two members will get 50JOD, less than six members will get 100JOD, and families with more than six members will get 120 JOD. The project was implemented with cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) who supported 1884 families, and the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) who supported 1588 families.

Jordan Red Crescent also finished distributing 11418 food parcels and 23423 hygiene parcels for Syrian refugees across the kingdom; from Torra north to Doraa south. These parcels were funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) which in total reached 20000 food parcels and 40000 hygiene parcels. The distribution for the remained parcels will continue till the end of October 2013.

JRC humanitarian support continued in September to support 2532 Jordanian orphans who are covered by Orphan’s Guarantees project which is implemented with cooperation with the Red Crescent Society of the United Arab Emirates which distributed 549322 JOD to cover the first half of the current year.
