Jordan Red Crescent Branch President’s and the Youth and Volunteer Unit organised a meeting of the Youth Coordinators in Amman’s Belle Vue Hotel on January 17, 2015. The meeting discussed Youth Initiatives implemented in the past year aimed to bolster social cohesion, and strengthening practical and social skills.
Part of the discussion focused on actions plans for 2015, ensuring that volunteer training workshops will continue, enabling volunteers to continue acquiring new skills through practice and activities.
The coordination meeting also reaffirmed the process of selecting volunteers who have played an effective role in offering community service and activities, while involving them in taking responsibility and the during decision making processes, adding that joint responsibility helps to hone their skills and develop them through training
Another workshop will be held at the Society’s headquarters for volunteers and coordinators from the Branch’s Youth Divisions for one day, at the end of this month.
The training workshop, entitled ‘Volunteer Development and Administration’ will deal with the definition of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, its principles, and methods of attracting and maintaining volunteers.
The workshop will also focus on the importance of communication with volunteers, motivational methods, and financial and administrative models and their use.
