The Organisational Development Unit (ODU) was created with the support of Movement Partners in 2014, following a self evaluation process. It is responsible of ensuring the well functioning of JNRCS Headquarters and its ten branches. The unit is committed to long-lasting impacts through strengthening the capacities of its staff, volunteers and branches.
The objectives of the ODU are in line with the Jordan National Red Crescent Society’s Strategic Plan 2016-2020.
Dedicated staff and volunteers are on the front line when responding to the needs of the vulnerable, especially in times of disaster. By engaging, educating and equipping them, we ensure the delivery of efficient and good quality services.
The top priorities for the Unit include:
Finance and Administration (Human Resources – by improving our administrative systems, we can work more efficiently and can communicate more effectively with our staff, volunteers, branches and different partners.
Branch Development & Volunteer Management – JNRCS has ten branches in different governorates of Jordan; ODU is currently working on improving their capacity. They have all been assessed; with the results determining their organisational strengths, the kind of trainings needed and the challenges they face. Visits have also been coordinated between the branches in order to encourage dialogue and exchange of experiences.
Communication, Coordination and Effective Partnerships – maintaining productive partnerships is paramount for our organisation. All of the Organisational Development Unit’s activities are related to improving relationships with our stakeholders, internally and externally.
